Naomi Osaka, Japanese-Haitian born who is the the highest paid tennis star, recently launched her new company 'Hana Kuma' with LeBron James' marketing firm SpringHills has faced backlash for the company name.
Osaka named the company 'Hana Kuma' which is a vulgar word in Swahili also known as Kiswahili meaning, in a mild way, a person without a vigina. Kuma is a vulgar word for vagina and Hana means 'you don't have'.
Swahili is a very popular language in Tanzania and most countries south of the Sahara.
The Bantu language is spoken by more than 200 million people and is taught in different Higher education colleges and universities around the world.
The name Osaka chose means 'flower bear' in Japanese.
After her new media name was announced backlash followed whereby demands to change the name grew louder and blame went to her research team for not advising her correctly.
So far the tennis star who made $50 million this year has not commented on the name gaffe. She just mildly tweeted "prayers for all my overthinkers. We be going through it".
