REAL MADRID CLINCH 35TH LA LIGA TITLE AFTER BEATING ESPANYOL 4-0

 


Real Madrid has clinched the La Liga title with 18 points to spare ahead of rivals Barcelona.

Madrid has won its 35th La Liga trophy with ease this season making Carlo Ancelotti one of the greatest coaches ever.

Ancelotti has become the only coach in history to win the Premier League, La Liga, Ligue 1, Serie A and Bundesliga.

“I’m proud [of the players], I want to keep on winning titles with Real Madrid,” Ancelotti told Real Madrid TV. 

“Congratulations [to the players and the fans]. We’ll see each other Wednesday. I’ll say this to the fans, Wednesday we need this atmosphere.”

Real’s hero Karim Benzema has 42 goals in 42 matches whereby he scored 2 goals against Espanyol. 

Tennis star Nadal took the the field for an honorary kick-off before the game on Saturday. Nadal is a huge fam of Madrid ans is also an honorary member of the teal. 

“Celebrating with the fans is the best thing there is, the party is theirs,” said Madrid’s most decorated player with 24 titles won, Marcelo,  via Spanish broadcaster Movistar.

“This is the biggest joy a player a player can have, celebrating with their fans, a match at home ___ there’s only joy.”

Former Madrid star Sergio Ramos also congratulated Madrid via Twitter, “Congratulations, Real Madrid, for your 35th title.”
