MAX VERSTAPPEN WINS THE FRENCH GRAND PRIX AS MERCEDES DRIVERS LET DOWN BY TEAM

Max Verstappen has won the French Grand Prix in a fighting spirit after going wide on the first lap.

Red Bull has won back to back three times making it in the history books after modern engine changes.

Mercedes were dumbfounded in the undercut by Red Bull after Hamilton pitted and never recovered because of tyre degradation.

Bottas tried to fend off Verstappen towards the end but could not hold him and after that Verstappen went gunning for Hamilton and eventually passed him with ease.

Bottas was so furious on the radio because he felt the team let him down when he suggested a two stop strategy.

Hamilton also told his team over the radio what he suggested in the morning brief and the team agreed that the fault was on them.

The rivalry between Verstappen and Hamilton has heated up with Red Bull picking up vital points in France.
