BOXING: JEFF MAYWEATHER NOW SAYS GOLOVKIN VS. ALVAREZ IS A 50-50 BOUT

Jeff Mayweather, uncle of the undefeated Floyd Mayweather and former boxer in the 90's, now says Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez face a 50-50 chance.Previously he was adamant that Golovkin would easily destroy Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

"Earlier I was leaning towards Golovkin but as the fight grows closer, I start leaning towards Canelo because Canelo is the more all around fighter. Canelo has defense, he throws great combinations, can move in his feet. Golovkin is a decent boxer but for the most part he just goes for the kill and he's not always going to land a shot, and Canelo can punch too, so nobody knows what 'GGG' can take," Jeff told On The Ropes Radio.

Promoters have been trying to put up this fight but in vain now Promoters are trying to fix a fight for this September during the Mexican Independence Day weekend.

Boxing analyst have seen some defensive flaws from Golovkin so the Idea he can be easily challenged has picked up 'steam'.

Canelo is stepping in the ring on May 6th for the catch-weight bout with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. with both fighters at 164.5 pounds.

Golovkin will defend his IBO, IBF, WBC, WBO middleweight titles in New York against Daniel Jacobs.
