COMMONWEALTH GAMES: DURBAN, SOUTH AFRICA, WILL NOT HOST THE 2022 GAMES

The city of Durban in South Africa will not be the host for the 2022 Commonwealth Games...
Durban was supposed to host the 2022 but due not meeting the criteria set by the Commonwealth organisation it will not be able to host the games...Durban was awarded the games in September 2015 and it was going to be the first time and African country hosts the games...

David Grevemberg, C.E.O of the Commonwealth Gamed Federation, said the search for a new host city has begun...Liverpool and Birmingham have shown interest..."We are disappointed but it does not diminish our commitment to the African continent" said Grevemberg...

The Commonwealth Games started in 1930 and involves more than 50 countries mostly countries that were colonised by the British..

Fikile Mbalula, South Africa's sports Minister, indicated last month that South Africa was not in the position to hold such a huge event because of financial constraints.
