FLOYD MAYWEATHER FACING THEFT, INTENT TO DEFRAUD CHARGES ... Over $200K Watch Purchase W/ Bad Check

Floyd Mayweather is in deep trouble in Las Vegas -- the boxing legend is facing felony theft and intent to defraud charges after allegedly buying a $200K Audemars Piguet watch with a reportedly bogus check

The 50-0 fighter is accused of stiffing Las Vegas shop Gold and Beyond in December 2024.

According to the complaint, filed earlier this year, Mayweather had "insufficient money, property, or credit" to pay for the jewelry -- and prosecutors believe he was aware of that when he used a check tied to a Wells Fargo account to pay for the item.

A court hearing was held on Monday, where Mayweather was represented by his legal team.

Mayweather is facing prison time if found guilty of either charge -- the theft could range from one to 20 years behind bars ... and the fraud could be one to four years.

An attorney representing the jewelry store told ESPN their client wanted to give Mayweather plenty of opportunities to make things right before taking it to court -- but was eventually ghosted.

"The reason for the delay is that my guy trusted Mayweather and was trying to give him every opportunity to make good on that," Marc Cook of Cook & Kelesis told the outlet.

"And it got to the point where he wasn't getting responses and wasn't getting money for a watch that Mayweather had for well over a year."

Mayweather has seemingly run into serious financial problems recently -- he's not only suing Showtime and taking his former business partner to court for more than $500 Million combined ... but also allegedly owes more than $7 Million in unpaid taxes.

If that's the case, it might explain why he's taking an exhibition with Greek fighter Mike Zambidis later this month ... which he still intends to travel to, despite the ongoing legal issues.

VICTOR ORTIZ WOULD 'BET EVERYTHING' ON MANNY PACQUIAO IN FLOYD MAYWEATHER REMATCH

Former WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz has said that he backs Manny Pacquiao to triumph against Floyd Mayweather if their fight will be recorded as a professional boxing match.

The original announcement of the rematch between the two all-time greats broadcast on Netflix is still down as professional bout on Boxrec to take place at The Sphere in Las Vegas on September 19. However, Mayweather told reporters three weeks ago that “This is not actually a fight. It’s an exhibition.” It remains to be seen how the fight will be stipulated.

“You know, I’ll be rooting for Manny,” Ortiz told Seconds Out. “But the truth is, Floyd doesn’t sign up for fights he thinks he’s at risk of losing.”

Ortiz (33-7-3, 25 KOs) collided with Mayweather in 2012, losing a fourth stoppage surrounded by bad blood.

“Why did he choose Pacquiao as his opponent? Maybe it’s because it’s an exhibition. I don’t know for sure. Personally, I’d bet everything on Manny winning. But, again, Floyd doesn’t take part in fights he can’t win.”

Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) has taken part in many exhibitions since hanging up hia gloves in 2017. On the other hand, Pacquiao (62-8-3, 39 KOs) broke his retirement of nearly four years to face Mario Barrios last July, sharing a majority-draw with he WBC welterweight champion in a fight many pundits believed the former eight division world champion won. The pair are tentatively scheduled to rematch over eleven on from their first meeting, where Mayweather won a comfortable unanimous-decision.

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SUES SHOWTIME AND STEPHEN ESPINOZA

Floyd Mayweather filed a lawsuit against Showtime Networks and its former sports president Stephen Espinoza.

The lawsuit alleges $340 million of his career earnings was misappropriated. The complaint accuses Showtime and Espinoza of acting as enablers in a fraud that allegedly funneled money away from Mayweather’s personal accounts.

Mayweather claims that funds generated were routed directly into accounts controlled by Al Haymon rather than being paid to the fighter. The suit specifically targets several causes of action, including “aiding and abetting breach of fiduciary duty, civil conspiracy to commit fraud, conversion, and unjust enrichment.”

The Lawsuit

Central to the dispute are Mayweather’s two highest-grossing fights: the 2015 against Manny Pacquiao and the 2017 bout with Conor McGregor. The lawsuit alleges that despite these bouts, Mayweather’s final compensation did not reflect the actual revenue generated.

While Al Haymon is not currently named as a defendant in this specific filing, legal action could follow. Mayweather’s attorney, Bobby Samini, has stated that the retired 50-0 champion is prepared to “go the distance” in the courtroom to recover the funds he rightfully earned.

“Floyd is one of boxing’s biggest pay-per-view draws. He generated hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue for Showtime. Mr. Mayweather now takes this fight to the courtroom to recover what he rightfully earned. Retiring undefeated at 50-0, Mr. Mayweather will go the distance in the courtroom just as he has in the ring,” Bobby Samini (Mayweather’s attorney)

Finances

The filing comes after Mayweather denied claims he was broke, as the boxer continues to face scrutiny over his finances.

“I work hard to build my name, to build my reputation, and I’m not going to let anyone go out there and speak my name or talk bad about me, my family, or my companies. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. If we call having two private jets, owning a hundred buildings, and being able to do what you want bankrupt, then I’m pretty sure everybody wants to live like that,” Mayweather stated

FANS REACT AS PACQUIAO RETURNS TO TRAINING – ‘P4P GREAT’

Credit: Henry Bedoy/MP Productions https://www.menshealth.com/fitness/a28423916/manny-pacquiao-training-after-40-thurman-fight/

Manny Pacquiao is back in training, but there has been no agreement reached with Floyd Mayweather over a rematch, as fans reacted to his workout footage.

Reports indicate that Manny is trying to finalize a rematch with Mayweather, who is currently retired, to avenge his 2015 loss. Manny came out of a 4-year retirement in July at 46 to secure a majority draw against WBC Welterweight Champion Mario Barrios. Manny has said his next fight will be on January 24, or an April 2026 date for the IBA Pro World Title. Rolando Romero, the WBA Welterweight Champion, was mentioned as an opponent. However, Romero has been ordered to face his WBA mandatory Shakhram Giyasov.

Pacquiao’s Future

“Manny Pacquiao is widely beloved around the globe, he is a true boxing legend who wants to leave legacy beyond the ring. His life story mirrors the spirit of IBA’s mission: giving every young boxer a fair chance to have achieve their dreams. We have been helping children as an organization, while Manny has been doing it all alone. Now, we will continue to help our children together as a united IBA boxing family and extend Manny’s programs beyond the borders,” Umar Kremlev (IBA President)

“Under the visionary leadership of President Umar Kremlev, the IBA has entered a Golden Era — an era where every boxer, from every country, can dream, fight, and succeed on equal terms. I am proud to join this mission — to make sure no young boxer is left behind, no champion is forgotten, and no nation is excluded. As Vice President, I will dedicate myself to building bridges — between amateurs and professionals, between East and West, between generations and cultures. I believe boxing can unite people in ways that politics never can. It can change lives, transform communities, and bring peace where there is division,” Pacquiao stated.

Things have also been complicated by Manny’s appointment as Vice President of the International Boxing Association (IBA). While Manny wants the Mayweather rematch, Floyd has said there is no news if ‘people don’t hear it from him.’ Regardless, Manny has been staying in shape. The following clip shows Manny hitting the punch bag with rapper BlueFace being one of the observers.

MIKE TYSON & FLOYD MAYWEATHER SET FOR SPRING 2026 MATCHUP IN BATTLE OF BOXING LEGENDS

The exhibition match between Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather has been officially announced, marking a unique chapter in boxing history that will see two icons return to the ring in spring 2026.

The event was confirmed by production company CSI Sports, which will facilitate broadcast and promotional coverage for the fight. Although the date and venue have not yet been specified, both fighters have signed contracts.

Mike Tyson Vs. Floyd Mayweather

Mike Tyson, who turns 60 next year, is returning after his last ring appearance in November 2024 – a loss to Jake Paul. His professional career featured 50 wins out of 59 contests, including 44 by knockout. Tyson held the world heavyweight title and remains a central figure in the heavyweight division’s history.

Floyd Mayweather, age 48, retired unbeaten following a career spanning five different weight classes, with 50 victories and no defeats. His last official bout occurred in 2017 against Conor McGregor. Since retirement, Mayweather has made several exhibition appearances, most recently facing John Gotti III in August 2025.

Mayweather described the upcoming exhibition as “legendary,” emphasizing his continued legacy in the sport and declaring, “You already know that if I am going to do something, it’s going to be big and it’s going to be legendary. I’m the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want”.

Event Details

CSI Sports organizers noted their ambition for the event to break broadcast, streaming, and economic records previously set by Tyson’s 2024 fight. Tyson and Mayweather are expected to compete under special exhibition rules, meaning the result will not affect their professional records. The event is being positioned as “Legend vs. Legend,” with both fighters’ promotional teams and Fight Sports listed as partners. CSI Sports plans to introduce new in-ring technology designed to reshape live boxing presentation and scoring going forward.

Weight And Regulation

Tyson typically fought at heavyweight, weighing 228.4 pounds in a recent bout with Jake Paul; Mayweather’s most recent bouts were in the welterweight division, with his weight at 160.8 pounds against John Gotti III. The exhibition status of the fight allows for flexibility in weight and other conditions.

Broadcasting And Promotion

No broadcasting partner has been finalized, but the involvement of executives with backgrounds at ESPN, DAZN, HBO, and Showtime indicates strong competition for rights. Netflix, which previously aired Tyson’s match with Jake Paul, may also be in contention as a global streaming provider. The Tyson vs. Mayweather exhibition is set to be one of the most talked-about events in contemporary boxing, uniting two generations of fans and highlighting the sport’s evolving dynamics.

TIM BRADLEY WARNS CANELO THAT TERENCE CRAWFORD IS LIKE ONE PAST OPPONENT: "HE'LL MAKE YOU PAY"

Terence Crawford wants a fight with Saul ‘Canelo‘ Alvarez before he retires despite the weight he would give away.

Recently undisputed at welterweight, the American would have to jump up three weight-classes from his last bout to face the undisputed Canelo, who holds all four belts at super-middleweight,

The Mexican hasn’t been overly keen on the bout, saying he would get no credit for the win.

Speaking to FightHype, Hall of Fame fighter turner analyst Tim Bradley questioned that given he recently faced Jermell Charlo, another man coming up in weight.

“This is the problem with Canelo, the fact that he fought against Charlo right. Charlo coming from 154, moving up a couple weight divisions to face Canelo. He just went in there and laid an egg. He went in there and survived. He just felt like ‘I’m not on Canelo’s level.'”

He believes the opponents are incomparable, highlighting the skills of Crawford as enough to ‘make Canelo miss’ like Floyd Mayweather once did.

“The difference is the mentality of Crawford. He’s a top pound-for-pound guy. Charlo was never a top pound-for-pound guy. The skillset of Crawford and what he brings. He’s a competitor man. He wants to fight Canelo, and I think he’ll do well against Canelo I really do. Am I nervous for the fight if they were to fight? Hell yeah. Canelo can punch and all it’s gonna take is one. Hit a guy like Terence who’s coming up like three weight classes to be able to face him.

However, just like we saw with Floyd back in the day, man, he was able to outbox him. He was able to out-think him. I think Crawford has the ability to outbox him and out-think him. Make him miss, make him pay. As long as he’s not catching too many of them and he’s using his legs and and defence to get outta the way, he should be able to beat him, man.”

Mayweather beat a 23-year-old Alvarez by majority decision back in 2013. The Mexican would go undefeated for almost a decade before falling shot again to Dmitry Bivol at light-heavyweight.

Crawford returns to action on August 3 to fight WBA Super-Welterweight Champion Israil Madrimov – his first test of how many more divisions he has in him.

MAYWEATHER VS. GOTTI III

FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida - In a Sunday night exhibition fight, five division world champion Floyd Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) and John Gotti III (2-0, 1 KO) ended in an ugly brawl between the fighters and their camps.

The contest was scheduled eight two-minute rounds. Because the fight was sanctioned as an exhibition, no official winner was announced, and no judges were assigned to score the fight.

Mayweather, 46-years-old, retired from the sport in 2017 after stopping UFC superstar Conor McGregor in a cross-sport clash.

Since retiring, Mayweather has taken part in numerous exhibition fights. The most high-profile exhibition fight to date was a clash with social media star Logan Paul in 2021.

30-year-old Gotti - the grandson of organized crime icon John Gotti - turned professional in boxing last year. He also holds a 5-1 record in mixed martial arts.

Before the contest began, there was a loud 'Gotti' chant from the crowd. A big delay before the start of the first round, because there was a mob of people in Mayweather's corner that security and others had to clear out.

Once the first round started, Mayweather was toying with Gotti and began to unload with punches from the start. Gotti was pinned against the ropes and covering up - and not throwing much of anything in return. It was a complete mismatch with Mayweather landing whatever he wanted from all angles. Mayweather was dancing, trash talking and having fun in the ring.

In the second, Mayweather was picking his spots with punches to the head and body. Gotti actually threw a few shots, but they were too slow and hit air. The third round saw Mayweather come out in a shell and dared Gotti to bring the fight to him. Gotti refused to take the bait. He tried to throw more punches, but not much landed. Mayweather continued to tag his body with hooks and then came back upstairs.

Gotti was too slow with his punches to connect in the fourth. Mayweather pinned him against the ropes and began to unload with shots to the head and body. Gotti tried trash talking and got popped to the face for his trouble. In the fifth, there wasn't much of anything from either guy. Mayweather was taking his time and picking his shots.

Before the start of the sixth, referee Kenny Bayless warned both men for their continued trash talking and antics in the ring - and warned that he would stop the fight if they continued to ignore him. Bayless had warned them several times for their trading of obscenities during the bout. Once the round began, they continued to trash talk and use rough tactics, so Bayless had finally seen enough and waved off the fight.

Once the fight was waved off, Gotti lost it and went after Mayweather and they began to brawl. Both camps stormed the ring, punches were thrown by both sides and there was an ugly mob scene that lasted for some time as the entire ring was filled with bodies. Even after Gotti and Mayweather were escorted out of the ring, fights erupted inside the ring between both camps, and the craziness continued outside of the ring.

A member of Mayweather's team got on the mic and pleaded with those in attendance to safely leave the venue without further violence."
