Leeds United and Rangers co-owner Jed York has been jailed in the US, for a day.

York, also the owner of NFL franchise San Francisco 49ers, pleaded no contest to a charge of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools. He was sentenced to a day in jail for each count, which was served concurrently.

On Sunday 23 August he was initially arrested on suspicion of engaging in prostitution but that charge was amended to disorderly conduct, according to records confirmed by the NFL.

In America, a no-contest plea means a defendant accepts the conviction and punishment without an admission of guilt. He was also fined a total of £873.

San Francisco 49ers said in a statement: “As this is a legal matter, which has been resolved, we will not be providing any further comment at this time.”

An NFL statement read: “We are aware of the matter which will be reviewed under the personal conduct policy.”

Leeds United have refused to comment.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce spoke to reporters for the first time as a married man on Day 13 of training camp. Kelce tied the knot with Taylor Swift in front of over 1,000 guests at Madison Square Garden on July 3.

The 36-year-old veteran, entering his 14th season in the NFL, made it clear his focus was on football. “I still got a lot of love for this game,” he said. “You know, I still think I can go out and play at a high level, and I want to go out there and prove to myself that I could play at a better level than I did last year.

“I think that’s probably the biggest thing for me is making sure that I’m accountable for the guys in this room and every single play that I’m out there.”

Photos shared on X show the pop star sitting at a booth at the steakhouse. The restaurant’s cocktail menu features a nod to the singer with a special drink called “The Alchemy,” the name of a Kelce-inspired song from her album, “The Tortured Poets Department.” The drink, made with vodka, Pierre Ferrand dry curaçao, aronia berry, cranberry, strawberry, lime, and oolong, arrives with a unique fire presentation.

Former NFL star Marcellus Wiley is no longer facing a criminal charge over an alleged domestic violence incident involving his estranged wife, Annemarie Wiley ... TMZ has learned.

According to court docs, obtained by TMZ, prosecutors in Orange County, Florida, told the court they would not be pursuing the case.

The filing states prosecutors declined to file charges because "testimonial evidence received is not corroborated by any physical or other evidence and is therefore insufficient to obtain a conviction."

In other words, it sounds like prosecutors didn't feel there was enough evidence for an easy conviction.

As TMZ first reported, Annemarie called cops after she claims things got physical inside a Florida hotel room. She told cops Marcellus poked her in the cheek and threatened to kill her.

Marcellus adamantly denied the claims.

Annemarie filed for divorce and a restraining order days later … claiming Marcellus was violent throughout their marriage. He has denied her claims.

According to a report early Monday from Sky Sports, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is part of a consortium that is nearing a purchase of one-third of Liverpool Football Club. The transaction will value the famous English Premier League outfit at about $6 billion, per that report.

With a current net worth estimated at $283.8 billion, Bezos is the world’s third-wealthiest man. And while Amazon Prime Video has become an increasingly prominent player in the world of live sports TV rights, the investment would be Bezos’ first directly into a major professional sports team.

Bezos wouldn’t be anywhere close to a majority investor in the club, given that there are several members of the consortium that would take one-third control of the 20-time English league champions.

Even so, it’s intriguing that Bezos might begin his dalliance in sports ownership in the Premier League, rather than an American league such as the NFL, where he was once linked to a potential purchase of the Washington Commanders.

Why might one of the world’s most influential businessmen think the Premier League is the right place to invest right now? Read on for four possible reasons.

Bang for the Buck?

While $6 billion is a substantial figure, it’s less than half of the going rate for the Dallas Cowboys, currently the world’s highest valued sports franchise at $13 billion.

Yet Liverpool has exponentially more followers worldwide, a figure estimated in the hundreds of millions thanks to the Premier League’s unrivaled global distribution.

Of course, the overwhelming majority of Cowboys and other NFL fans live in United States, the world’s wealthiest economy, and it’s the NFL’s domination of that economy that leads to the high valuation of the Cowboys and other franchises. But there’s still a case that global soccer entities like Liverpool bring more for their investment buck.

Unique Growth Potential

The immediate aftermath of the 2026 World Cup in the United States could prove uniquely favorable when it comes to global soccer brands growing their profile among American audiences.

For better or worse, the assumption among sports media types has been that fans newly infatuated with the sport will seek to continue their interest by watching the Premier League, rather than MLS or other domestic U.S. leagues. And there could be a lot of those folks if the TV numbers are any indication.

The final between Spain and Argentina on July 19 drew an audience of more than 60 million viewers in the United States, according to data provided by rights holders Fox and Telemundo. That made it the most-watched non-NFL sporting event in the U.S. since the Nancy Kerrigan-Tanya Harding scandal captivated audiences at the 1994 Winter Olympic Games.

Premier League audiences on NBC have already proved sizable, rivaling national NBA or MLB regular season broadcasts on network TV.

More Revenue Control

Unlike NFL franchises, which operate with widespread revenue sharing between the 32 teams, Liverpool FC and other huge soccer brands have more control over their own revenue generation.

Money from the Premier League’s TV contracts are distributed partially by merit, meaning higher achieving clubs and those appearing in more televised games take in a larger share. And unlike the NFL, soccer clubs keep all of the revenue they generate from commercial partnerships, matchday revenue and merchandise sales.

If this is truly a watershed moment for major European soccer in the U.S., the revenue potential of that moment may be even larger than an equivalent opportunity within U.S. pro sports leagues.

Better Competitive Prospects

After a famously long drought, Liverpool have won two of the last seven English Premier League titles. And with Pep Guardiola departing as Manchester City manager following last season, it feels like there is an opportunity for another club to overtake City as the dominant force in English football.

Liverpool certainly won’t be the only team trying to do that. But they are among the clubs most suited to be successful, given the combination of their recent upward trends and history of success.

On the flip side, global soccer isn’t constrained by the same North American competitive models that create the parity of the NFL. Only seven clubs have won the Premier League since it split from the old English Football League in the early 1990s. So if Liverpool can emerge as the new dominant force, their place atop the English football pecking order could become relatively stable.

Canton, Ohio – If it takes a Pro Football Hall of Famer to know a Pro Football Hall of Famer, then Drew Brees was in perfect company Friday morning.

Brees, who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on Saturday, was joined Friday morning by Rickey Jackson (Class of 2010, Saints player from 1981-93), Willie Roaf (Class of 2012, Saint from 1993-2001) and Morten Andersen (Class of 2017, Saint from 1982-94), while Brees made a promotional visit and worked a shift at Raising Cane's in Canton, Ohio.

"It was just a matter of time," Jackson said. "You know that he was going in. (Defensive end) Cam Jordan probably is the next one and hopefully, (Jahri Evans) makes it. I like to see Saints guys get in."

"The end of a great career," Roaf said. "The way he conducted himself on and off the field and the person he is – you know it was coming, it was just a matter of when he was going to lace the cleats up and finish his career."

"Drew's awesome," Andersen said. "Twenty years, 15 years with the Saints, Super Bowl, (Hurricane) Katrina – you can go on and on and on. What he was able to do with (Coach) Sean Payton and all the rest of the guys was a catalyst for excellence in New Orleans. He deserves to be in, he deserves to be first ballot. He's the greatest Saint ever."

Brees, the first Saint to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer, has been in the midst of a whirlwind week in Canton, with little time to stop and savor the moment.

"(The Hall of Famers) warned me, they said it's going to be a blur," Brees said. "They said come back next year, you and your wife, and just sit and watch and go, 'Oh, these are all the things we missed.' You're in the fray. Just trying to take it all in. And honestly, every moment, I think it becomes a little bit more real.

"One of the things (Thursday) night was we did a toast with all the Hall of Famers in the bust gallery. So here you are, looking at all of the busts and then all of a sudden you're clinking glasses with Lawrence Taylor (Class of 1999) and it's like, 'Whoa. That just happened.' Willie Lanier (Class of 1986) is toasting you. It's pretty special."

It was one of many that has been special for Brees, when he has had time to exhale. The exclamation mark comes Saturday, during an induction speech that is supposed to last 10 to 12 minutes, but that Brees said likely will run past that mark. The ESPN/NFL Network broadcast starts at 11 a.m. central with Brees scheduled to be the last of the five players being inducted to deliver his speech.

"I've cried no less than 50 times writing the speech," Brees said. "Driving in my car – tears. Working out in the weight room – tears. On the plane the other day – tears. I've tried to put myself in the moment and just visualize their faces as I'm writing the things that I want to say about them and, yeah, I get super emotional about it.

"I'm trying to get it all out of the way so that it can be a nice, smooth speech, and not making anybody too uncomfortable. But that just comes with it."

SHOULDER NEWS: Brees said he likely will need shoulder replacement in the future. His right (throwing) shoulder required extensive repairs in 2006, following an injury in his final game with the San Diego Chargers. He joined the Saints as a free agent that year and played 15 more seasons while building his Hall of Fame resume, but said that Dr. James Andrews, the orthopedic surgeon who performed the surgery, advised him to "wear out the tires as much as you can, but know that you're on a fast track to a degenerative shoulder after this," Brees said.

"I'll probably have to get a shoulder replacement at some point. But I'm hanging on as long as I can."

With plenty of time for NFL teams to examine players to add to their teams, the Philadelphia Eagles have watched one of their former players land on his feet.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that the Detroit Lions have signed tight end Nick Muse and released wide receiver Tarik Black. The Lions signed Black just over a month ago.

While Muse will be remembered more for his three seasons with the Vikings, he also played with the Eagles. He signed with the Eagles’ practice squad less than a month before the team defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX in 2025.

Last year, Muse went into training camp with the Eagles hoping to earn a spot on the 53-man roster. In three preseason games, he had two receptions for 13 yards. He ultimately did not make the team.

There was too much competition at the tight end position with Dallas Goedert and Grant Calcaterra taking the top spots. Cameron Latu ended up being a tight end no one saw coming, taking a spot on the team after his performance on special teams.

Muse would go on to join the Arizona Cardinals‘ practice squad in October before getting released. He then spent most of November and the beginning of December with the Los Angeles Rams‘ practice squad. Muse would finish up on the New York Jets‘ practice squad.

Eagles Pressing Forward With Second Week of Training Camp

The Eagles had a nice short run with Muse on the team as a depth player, but they are pressing forward. They have plenty of tight end questions to answer themselves at training camp.

So far, Dallas Goedert and Johnny Mundt have been taking the top two spots on the depth chart. Rookie second-round pick Eli Stowers isn’t getting many looks, leaving many to wonder what is going on.

Philly has plenty of other top storylines in training camp entering the second week. They have to get the offense addressed after a slow start. The Eagles’ defense, though, is playing lights out, with great pressure from the defensive line.

Things seem to be trending in a good direction for the Eagles so far, with some improvements needed. It will all start with quarterback Jalen Hurts and his receivers. Once they can all get on track, then the offensive line will need to start showing some improvement.

Nothing needs to really change on defense, as they need to continue getting pressure up front. They would like to have Jonathan Greenard back from injury, but that remains to be seen on when he will be back in training camp.

The Eagles would like to get off to a fast start in the second week of training camp, as that will be a storyline to watch.

COWBOYS OWNER JERRY JONES DEFENDS TONY ROMO FOLLOWING ARREST

If you are counting the people who are still in Tony Romo’s corner following his DUI arrest — and possibly the undoing of his lucrative broadcasting career — put Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones at the front of that group.

Jones came to Romo’s defense following his arrest on July 23 on allegations of driving under the influence in Wisconsin.

Speaking to Fox 4 Dallas-Fort Worth’s Mike Doocy from Cowboys training camp in Oxnard, California, Jones was 1 of the few to stick up for Romo over the last week, and said he’d been in communication with Romo several times since the arrest.

"I’ve been talking to him … I love him, I love what he’s about, I love his character,” Jones told Doocy. “He’s a very, very unique talent, and the real question is, and I don’t even have to ask what the answer is, is do you think Tony Romo knows how to get up when he gets knocked down? He’s had a life of that. And that’s one of his greatest attributes. He can handle adversity and this is something that he will work through.”

Romo was put on indefinite leave by CBS Sports as their lead NFL color commentator following his arrest, with 3-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt taking his spot alongside play-by-play man Jim Nantz and sideline reporter Tracey Wolfson on the network’s No. 1 NFL coverage team.

“There have been very few players Jerry Jones and family have held in higher regard than Tony Romo,” NFL reporter Ed Werder wrote on his official X account on August 1.

Romo signed a 10-year, $180 million contract with CBS Sports in 2020 that 1 television executive told The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand was the “worst contract in media history.”

While earning praise for his acuity and wit on broadcasts before signing the contract, Romo has turned into a liability in the years since.

"CBS clearly does not want the cloud from this story to shade its most important property,” Marchand wrote on July 31. ” … Romo comes across as a very affable guy and many have described him to me over the years as a ‘big kid.’ But he is not known as a hard worker, and it has shown on the air. Prior to his massive new deal, Nantz and Romo were welcoming comparisons to Pat Summerall and John Madden. Since then, the duo has regressed, and Romo often sounded unprepared, saying odd things.”

Tony Romo Defined Era for Cowboys

Romo played for the Cowboys from 2003 to 2016, where he was a 4-time Pro Bowl selection and earned NFL All-Pro honors in 2014.

Romo made the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2003 and became the full-time starter in 2006. In 10 seasons as a starter, Romo led the Cowboys to the playoffs 4 times before a preseason back injury saw him lose his starting job to current Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott in 2016.

Romo retired after the season and went directly into the broadcast booth.

In 13 seasons, Romo threw for franchise records of 34,183 yards and 248 touchdowns. He also set NFL records for the most consecutive road games with a touchdown pass (41) and most games in a single season with a passer rating of at least 135.0 (6).

49ERS HEAD COACH KYLE SHANAHAN INVILVED IN CAR CRASH, SUFFERES SEVERAL INJURIES

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan was involved in a car accident last week in which he suffered several injuries, none of which are life-threatening, the team announced on Saturday.

Shanahan, 46, sustained a broken nose, three broken ribs and a broken hand. He also required over 40 stitches in his face and suffered a severe concussion, according to ESPN.

General manager John Lynch will meet with reporters on Saturday afternoon to discuss the developments.

In a statement, the 49ers announced that assistant head coach Chris Foerster would handle Shanahan's head-coaching duties while Shanahan recovers, along with several coordinators on the staff.

"San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan was involved in a car accident last week where he suffered non-life-threatening injuries," the statement read. "Coach Shanahan will participate in team activities on a limited basis at the start of training camp while he recovers. Coach Shanahan and the 49ers organization would like to sincerely thank all first responders involved for their efforts and care.

"Assistant head coach Chris Foerster, along with team coordinators, will handle head coach responsibilities during this period."

The accident occurred on July 14, ESPN's Adam Schefter and Nick Wagoner report. Shanahan's vehicle collided with an SUV near his home in northern California. He was taken by paramedics to a local hospital and spent most of the day there until he was released.

The other driver involved in the accident was not injured, according to Palo Alto police. Drugs and alcohol were not involved, both drivers were cooperative with law enforcement and no one was cited in the collision.

"Consistent with our standard release of information procedures in such cases, we do not release information regarding the cause of the collision, or which party may have been at fault," said Palo Alto lieutenant Nicholas Martinez, via ESPN.

Shanahan reportedly informed the 49ers assistant coaches of the accident on Tuesday. He has been recovering at home and is apparently recuperating well, but doctors will not clear him to participate in training camp activities until he is free of concussion symptoms. The 49ers open training camp on Sunday.

Foerster, 64, is in his second stint with the 49ers, joining Shanahan's staff in 2019 as a game-planning assistant before being promoted to offensive line coach. He added run coordinator duties in 2022 and three seasons later was moved up to assistant head coach.

Shanahan is going into his 10th season as 49ers head coach and has compiled an 82-67 regular-season record. He is 11 victories away from overtaking Bill Walsh for second on the team’s all-time list and 17 away from most in franchise history.

LIONS CB TERRION ARNOLD EXPECTED TO FACE SERIOUS NFL PUNISHMENT AFTER ARREST

Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold is facing the prospect of life in prison after being arrested on a series of felony charges, and the former first-round pick could also face harsh discipline from the NFL in the meantime.

Arnold surrendered to authorities in Florida after facing an arrest warrant connected to an alleged robbery and kidnapping in Tampa. The Florida state attorney’s office said in a statement that Arnold faces “multiple felony charges which carry a potential sentence of up to life in prison” for allegedly orchestrating a kidnapping in retaliation for an alleged theft at a property he owned.

While Arnold has maintained his innocence and the team issued a statement avoiding comment on the specifics, recent cases indicate that he could face a long suspension from the league.

Terrion Arnold Could Be Away From Lions Indefinitely

Several other NFL players who faced felony charges have been handed long suspensions by the NFL, including six games for Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice after he pleaded guilty to charges related to a street-racing incident. Running back Kareem Hunt was suspended for eight games for an assault that was recorded on video.

While the NFL often waits until the conclusion of criminal proceedings to issue punishment, Arnold could face more immediate action. The Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office said in a statement that it had filed a pretrial motion to keep him in jail without bond until trial, with no court date in sight.

“Our office will file a pretrial detention motion to argue that Arnold remain behind bars until trial,” the statement read. “The date for that hearing has not yet been scheduled. Arnold’s codefendants are all currently behind bars in connection with the crime.”

That could prompt the NFL to put him on the commissioner’s exempt list, essentially putting him on paid leave until the trial takes place.

The Lions did not indicate if he faced any action from the team, releasing a statement with few details.

“We are aware of the legal situation regarding Terrion Arnold,” a spokesperson for the team said, via USA Today. “We will not comment at this time out of respect for the ongoing legal process.”

Arnold’s name had first surfaced in court documents earlier this year, when the alleged co-conspirators were arrested, but Lions head coach Dan Campbell said at the annual league meeting that the cornerback was not involved.

“We got all the information that says he wasn’t involved. That’s what we know, that’s all we know, and that’s really all I can say,” Campbell said, via NBC Sports. “As far as I know it’s not a big deal. It seems like he still wasn’t involved with this.”

Terrion Arnold Faces Serious Allegations

As USA Today reported, the charges against Arnold stem from an alleged theft from an Airbnb that he owned.

“Arnold allegedly began orchestrating his retaliation with others within hours of giving his theft report to the police, according to an investigation cited in the press release from the state attorney’s office,” the report noted.

Police claim that Arnold orchestrated the kidnapping and robbery in retaliation for the alleged theft.

“Arnold is accused of coordinating and directing … codefendants to lure three men to an apartment where the victims were robbed, beaten, and held at gunpoint,” the release from the state attorney’s office said.

Retired NFL star Brandon Marshall has gone viral with a polarizing social media post showing his son being punished with a 2am jog as the six-time Pro Bowler recorded the scene from the comfort of his car.

'This is my son,' Marshall wrote in the caption, 'not my friend.'

Throughout the video, the 42-year-old All-Pro receiver is heard pushing the boy to run faster and even threatening to make him run further if he doesn't pick up his pace.

'It's no different than when we were in LA, Santa Monica, running at midnight on the pier,' Marshall said as the visibly sleepy boy slowly made his way through a residential area. 'We wanted to do that; we love to do that.

'If you don't start running, we're gonna go three miles, so you better start running,' Marshall continued from off camera while recording and driving slowly alongside his son.

Ultimately the boy is able to reach 6mph, but not until after a few more remarks from his father.

Brandon Marshall divided his followers over the post, which some saw as 'click bait'

The decision to force a boy into the streets for an unwanted jog angered many fans, including one who saw the punishment as child abuse.

'This is emotional, verbal and physical abuse,' they wrote. 'This public humiliation should be reported to Child Protective Services. Not okay to do this to this child. There are better ways to teach a lesson to your child.'

Many others objected to Marshall's decision to post the punishment online rather than keep it inside the family.

'That's family business, not instagram business,' one critic wrote.

'And this is on social media because?' another asked.

One follower suggested Marshall 'get out and run with him,' adding: 'Discipline him, but don't use him for click bait.'

Many parents felt Marshall's punishment was fine, but the Instagram post was a misstep 

Another parent offered particularly constructive criticism.

'You should NEVER discipline a child with embarrassment it messes up their mental health state,' they wrote. 'Kids are people too. This is so lame. It didn't need to be public if this is how you wanted to discipline that's fine. You did this to show off on the internet. I hope you take this down. And I read some of your comments learn how to take constructive criticism my guy. Most of us aren't trying to hurt you just giving good feedback. Take care.'

But the responses weren't all negative. Marshall, a father of three, was commended by many for disciplining his son.

'Yall acting like this is hurting HIS SON,' wrote one defender. 'He's teaching. Correcting behaviors before the streets do.'

The 'streets' in this case appear to be a gated community in South Florida, where Marshall has lived since his decorated NFL career ended in 2018.

New England Patriots tight end Hunter Henry believes Mike Vrabel did "a great job" addressing their locker room following the drama surrounding himself and Dianna Russini. 

Vrabel and Russini, who are both married, have been the talk of the NFL offseason after the pair were spotted together at an adults-only resort in Sedona, Arizona, earlier this month. Since those photos leaked, more have emerged of them together, the earliest dating back to 2020 in a New York bar, where they were pictured kissing.

The fallout of the initial photos saw Russini resign from her job with the Athletic, something for which Vrabel reportedly feels remorseful. Meanwhile, Vrabel said last week he was entering counseling after bizarrely giving two press conferences on the same day ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.

The first of the two press conferences Vrabel held ahead of the NFL Draft was intended to prevent Patriots players from being asked about the drama surrounding him and Russini before he could address it publicly.

During the press conference, Vrabel admitted he did not meet the standard he holds himself to. "My previous actions don’t meet the standard that I hold myself to. They don’t,” said Vrabel.

"And what I believe is best for the two most important things in my life, my family and this football team, is for us to take the necessary steps to work together, and to give them what I told them I’d give them, which is the best version of me. That’s what we’re going to do."

While he was away from the team on Day 3 of the NFL Draft, he returned to work Monday for OTAs.

According to Patriots star Henry, Vrabel did "a great job" of addressing the elephant in the room when he spoke to his players amid the offseason drama.

"I thought he did a great job," said Henry of Vrabel, talking to his team. "It's been the same Vrabes, bringing a lot of energy into the room, so yeah, obviously he addressed it, and that's kind of all I'll say about it.

He added of the potential for offseason distractions in the wake of the Vrabel-Russini drama, "I think everybody is focused on ... the task we have at hand right now. Right now, that's working out, coming together as a team. Focussed on the meetings, trying to get better, learn from what we did last year and try to improve on some of the things we did not do well."

Patriots linebacker Robert Spillane, who was a team captain last season, meanwhile, refused to be drawn on the situation surrounding Vrabel.

"Coach coaches football and he keeps the main thing, the main thing," Spillane said. "I know he’s dealing with personal issues, but when we’re in the building, we speak football.

Spillane added, "I love coach and I'm going to be here to support him as he would be there to support me through anything. I'm just a player and I'm trying to do that the best I can."

New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel will not be with the team on the third day of the 2026 NFL Draft, after he confirmed he would begin counseling this weekend.

While the 2026 draft is set to begin on Thursday night, the NFL headlines continue to be dominated by the fallout of the scandal involving Vrabel and former Athletic insider Dianna Russini after the pair were pictured together at an adults-only resort in Sedona, Arizona.

Both Vrabel and Russini, who resigned from her role with the Athletic, denied any wrongdoing. However, new photos of the pair dining together have since emerged, contradicting their initial denials. Ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, Vrabel met with media to speak with reporters, admitting he had held some "difficult conversations."

Heading into the draft in Pittsburgh, Vrabel has also confirmed he will not be with the Patriots on Saturday, the third and final day, after he said he would be entering counseling this weekend.

"As I said the other day, I promised my family, this organization and this team that I was going to give them the best version of me that I can possibly give them. In order to do so, I have committed to seeking counseling, starting this weekend," Vrabel said.

"This is something that I have given a lot of thought to and is something I would advise a player to do if I was counseling them."

Vrabel also confirmed that he had spoken to Patriots players earlier this week after they arrived for the start of New England's offseason program.

Two players had been scheduled to speak to reporters on Tuesday, but Vrabel said he wanted to speak to the media first.

"We believe in order to be successful on and off the field, you have to make good decisions. That includes me," said Vrabel. "That starts with me."

The Patriots head coach also stressed that he wanted to speak to reporters to address the situation surrounding himself and Russini, adding that he did not want to take attention away from the NFL Draft.

And he also added that he needed to enter counseling to become "a better person".

"I have always wanted to lead by example and I believe this is what I have to do to be the best husband, father, and coach that I possibly can be," continued Vrabel.

"This is not an easy thing for me to admit, but it is one that I know will make me a better person. I appreciate the support that everyone has given me and promise a stronger resolve as a result."

However, the person behind the photo leak was reportedly Dianna Russini’s own husband.

There was initial speculation that a fan encountered Dianna and Mike at the Arizona hotel, took their pictures and shared them with the internet; however, the angles and clarity of the zoomed images led sources to believe that the photos were taken by a professional, specifically a private investigator.

According to Jared Stillman, a prominent sports radio personality, Dianna Goldschmidt’s husband, Kevin Goldschmidt hired a PI and leaked the pictures:

Jared also shared the reason why he thinks so. According to him, it was a revenge move by Kevin against Dianna, with no financial motive. He mentioned Kevin is very affluent and wouldn’t aim to get money by putting a PI to spy on his wife.

That left Jared with the other most probable motive, i.e., defaming Dianna and paving the way for a spear campaign against her.  shared that if Dianna’s husband actually plotted the entire PI thing with vindictive thoughts, then he had succeeded in it, as the alleged affair with Mark Vrabel “probably ruined her career.”

The Game 102.5-FM host felt Kevin had “done a really good job” in executing the plan. His exact words were:

“…vindictive. And if that’s what the husband’s doing…bravo because he has absolutely tanked Dianna’s career. If the husband did hire the PI and if this is not about money then that means that the PI and the leaking of the pictures was all to smear Dianna’s name. And in this case, you’ve done a really good job of it. And it has probably ruined her career.”

It has been speculated that Dianna Russini’s husband turned vengeful towards her following her alleged public statements regarding her husband.

According to Jared, Dianna’s remarks demonstrate how little respect she has for Kevin. Additionally, he argued that the Mike Vrabel affair angle would give Kevin an advantage if the couple divorced. Her occasional jokes about their infidelity, disagreements, and other issues have fuelled the divorce buzz for quite some time.

Dianna Russini resigned from her role with The Athletic in the aftermath of the Mike Vrabel saga, and now NFL writer Crissy Froyd has lost her job for commenting on the situation

NFL writer Crissy Froyd has doubled down on her criticism of fellow reporter Dianna Russini after being fired from her role with USA Today Sports for comments on social media. Russini announced her resignation from The Athletic after photos of her alongside New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel went viral.

The pair were pictured at an Arizona getaway, and after initially being supported by The Athletic, an investigation then followed before she resigned. The story has gone viral within the sports and media industry, and Froyd celebrated her resignation by calling her a "detriment to women in sports."

Froyd has since been let go by her outlet for the comments, but has no regrets over calling Russini out. After Russini announced her resignation from The Athletic, Froyd wrote on X: "I’m sure you were told to submit this or that you’d get fired instead." Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

"We know who you really are and what you’ve been up to for years. It does so much detriment to women in sports who have done things the right way."

Froyd then issued a statement to the Daily Cellar, claiming that allegations made toward Russini and Vrabel were "certainly true," also claiming that it's well-known within the industry. "All of us do know what she’s been up to," she said.

"From fights with other reporters in Chili’s parking lots about hooking up with married NFL coaches to everything else, it is almost certainly all true. It was the worst-kept secret in the NFL reporting world for a while."

Froyd also admitted that she was given an opportunity to be guided by Russini, but refused. "Because I knew what she was about and her track record," she claimed.

The comments against Froyd prompted USA Today Sports to issue a statement confirming that it had cut ties with the NFL writer. "Her recent statements do not reflect our commitment to professionalism or uphold our principles of ethical conduct," USA Today spokesperson Lark-Marie Anton said.

Froyd posted her own statement on X, but made it clear that she stood by her comments and encouraged others to speak out when necessary. "I would like to acknowledge the statements put out about me recently and that I am also no longer with USA TODAY SMG," she wrote.

"I regret zero of what I said and stand beside it. If you want to talk, my messages are open. My email is operative, too.

"I feel I've been very transparent and did nothing wrong. I also find it so interesting that a Nancy Armour column was able to be published about Dianna Russini setting women back on USAT, but that my comments as a freelancer on my own social media about her were not fine.

"Be bold and speak out. Will it make a martyr out of you? Maybe. But some things are worth it and some are not. This was."
