The 2026 FIFA World Cup reaches its climax on Sunday, July 19, 2026, as Argentina and Spain meet at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey — and the crowd of celebrities filling the host venue for the World Cup final is nearly as decorated as the two sides facing off.

Star power has followed the tournament since it opened, when the likes of Shakira, Michael Bublé and Katy Perry helped kick off the North American tournament by performing as part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremonies. FIFA Chief Operating Officer Heimo Schirgi shared that the closing festivities are built to match that energy with this year’s final adding a first to the sport’s biggest stage: a Halftime Show.

For the first time in World Cup history, the final will pause for musical performances at halftime. Curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin in support of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, headliners Madonna, Shakira, Justin Bieber and BTS will showcase a global range of music with the artists respectively representing the United States, Colombia, Canada and South Korea.

The four superstars are reportedly set to be joined by British rockers Coldplay, Nigerian singer Burna Boy, Los Angeles Philharmonic music director Gustavo Dudamel and New York City’s PS22 Chorus, along with characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets.

“The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can,” Bieber previously said in a statement. “I’m grateful to be part of this Halftime Show, and even more grateful knowing it's already helping expand access to education for children around the world.”

Meanwhile, the World Cup’s closing ceremony will feature Jennifer Hudson performing the U.S. national anthem, as well as a lineup set to include Post Malone, Laura Pausini, Nicole Scherzinger, Robbie Williams and IShowSpeed.

“We are thrilled to have so many stars taking to the pitch, from both the football and entertainment worlds,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino said in a press release, adding that the ceremony would “set the tone for a historic FIFA World Cup final, uniting the passion of 48 teams, 16 host cities and millions of fans on one unforgettable stage.”

The star wattage has been on the East Coast all week with Kevin Durant pulling Tom Brady, Kevin Hart, Travis Scott, Rio Ferdinand, Michael Rubin and Novak Djokovic — along with finalists Rodri, Emiliano Martínez and Lionel Messi — into one massive selfie taken at a press conference ahead of the World Cup Final at Fanatics Fest in New York on Friday, July 17.

By Sunday, Pausini, Hart, Winnie Harlow, Odell Beckham Jr., Julia Garner, Gayle King and more were among the first to arrive at the New Jersey finale. Here’s a look at the celebrities turning out for the World Cup’s grand finish.

Sitting courtside at the Crypto.com Arena, the pair were among the familiar faces spotted in the building. “No reintroduction needed: JAY-Z and Blue Ivy courtside,” the Lakers’ account captioned photos of the father-daughter duo.

For the occasion, Blue Ivy wore a black tee layered under a moto leather jacket from Balenciaga. She completed the look with denim cargo pants, a Diesel bag, and Isabel Marant Bekett wedge sneakers, which, as social media pointed out, closely resembled a pair Beyoncé wore back in 2013.

“Oh, Blue is THAT GIRL!” someone wrote beneath the Lakers’ post. Another person joked about how much she’s grown up: “Me: ‘Who is this grown woman with him?!’ — OMG.” See for yourself below.

 Several other photos from that night showed JAY-Z talking to LeBron James after the game. Unfortunately, depending on who you were cheering for, the Lakers lost 132-119 to the Spurs. In another shot, Yaya Mayweather (daughter of Floyd Mayweather) was seated beside Blue Ivy with her son, Kentrell Jr., whom she shares with YoungBoy Never Broke Again.

Thanks to Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter Tour,” we saw a whole lot of Blue Ivy in 2025. The show run began toward the end of April and moved through cities like Chicago, London, Paris, and Houston. As some fans might recall, the Carters’ eldest daughter stepped onstage for a solo dance break during “Deja Vu,” then later returned with her younger sister, Rumi, for “PROTECTOR.”

Beyoncé rolled out new COWBOY CARTER-themed holiday merch last month as well. A couple of the items referenced the joke that Blue Ivy might be the “COZY” singer’s manager. Roc Nation Sports International (RNSI), a division of entertainment company Roc Nation founded by American music mogul Jay-Z, has committed to the African football market by signing up eight promising youngsters from the continent.

While they are not the agency’s first cohort of African football players–17-year-old Cape Town City winger Emile Witbooi achieved that feat earlier this year–their latest additions indicate a global company geared for long-term investment on the African continent.

“We believe Africa is a hotbed of untapped footballing potential, and our expansion here is a natural progression of our global vision,” RNSI’s Head of Global Recruitment for Football, Nathan Campbell, said in a statement.

“Our strategy is built on deep collaboration with local partners, allowing us to understand and address the unique needs of African players, ensuring they receive the best possible support to reach their full potential.”

Founded in 2019 as Roc Nation’s sports wing, RNSI represents over 100 football players, headlined by Real Madrid duo Vinicius Junior and Endrick, alongside Napoli’s Kevin De Bruyne.

The global music personalities affiliated with Roc Nation include such names as Rihanna, Alicia Keys, and J Balvin.

Roc Nation’s concerted move into African football seemed only a matter of time. The earliest sign came in 2021 through a consultancy agreement with South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns—a partnership that continues to this day.

With Witbooi signing on in February this year, it seemed only a matter of time before more African talent followed. The scale, however, was unknown.

“Africa has been a key part of our long-term global vision at RNSI,” says Campbell in an interview with FORBES AFRICA. “We’ve always recognized the immense footballing potential that exists across the continent… the sheer volume of promising young players [in Africa] is astounding.”

Six African nations are represented in their eight-player haul, from Kaizer Chiefs striker Neo Bohloko (South Africa) and Benab FC midfielder Joseph Narbi (Ghana), to Al Nasr attacker Mamadou Diallo (Guinea) and Sibonor United winger Francis Gomez (The Gambia).

The remaining four include Ifeoluwa Olowoporoku (Nigeria), Tadiwa Chakuchichi (Zimbabwe), Siyabonga Mabena (South Africa), and Ali Umar (Ghana). All players, except the latter two (18), are between 16 and 17 years old.

“We saw the opportunity not just to identify elite talent, but to partner with local stakeholders and provide the comprehensive support these young athletes need both on and off the pitch… The African players currently on our roster are just the beginning.”

RNSI has confirmed it is currently scouring Zambia and the Ivory Coast for more talent. The opportunity opens unique commercial avenues for players previously limited by access and exposure, thus uncovering Africa’s next crop of footballing prodigies.

A civil lawsuit against Jay-Z accuses the rapper and entrepreneur of raping a 13-year-old girl alongside Sean "Diddy" Combs in 2000. The Sunday filing instantly thrust the music mogul into the center of a media firestorm. By 8 p.m. ET, Jay-Z responded with a fiery statement on X to make it clear he was ready to fight back.

With his reputation and legacy on the line, Jay-Z is in for a fierce fight. As the founder of Roc Nation, he's up against Tony Buzbee, a tenacious attorney representing 120 people in lawsuits against Combs.
