JORDAN BRAND PAYS TRIBUTE TO JALEN HURTS AFTER SUPER BOWL WIN WITH ROUSING COMMERCIAL

 

Jalen Hurts rocked a pair of Air Jordan 1 “Unbannable” cleats on Sunday during pregame warmups.

After Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in New Orleans, the Jordan brand returned the favor with a commercial which will leave everyone on their feet and applauding.

Entitled “Love, Hurts,” the 30-second spot pays homage to the former Alabama and Oklahoma quarterback.

“Some people want to hate everything about Jalen Hurts.

“Hate that he’s a winning quarterback. Hate that he’s taken the Eagles to the championship game twice in three years. Hate that he’s a complete athlete.

“And now, they can hate that he’s a champion.”

On Sunday, Hurts threw for two touchdowns and ran for a score on a tush push to earn Super Bowl MVP honors, and Vic Fangio’s defense was so dominant that the Eagles didn’t need much from Saquon Barkley.

He went 17 for 22 for 221 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for 72 yards and a touchdown that avenged a Super Bowl loss two years ago against Kansas City.

Hurts was outstanding in that game, throwing for 304 yards and a TD and rushing for 70 yards and three more scores but could only watch as Harrison Butker kicked a go-ahead field goal with 8 seconds left for a 38-35 win.

Hurts turned that year into a $255 million, five-year contract the following offseason.

According to The Associated Press, Hurts is now just the fourth quarterback ever to lose his first Super Bowl start and go on to win one as a starter later in his career, joining Hall of Famers John Elway, Bob Griese and Len Dawson.

BREAKING NEWS VON MILLER HANDED 4 GAME SUSPENSION ... For Violating NFL's Personal Conduct Policy

Buffalo Bills defensive end Von Miller was just suspended for four games ... after the NFL says he violated the league's Personal Conduct Policy.

Miller -- who won't be paid for the next month while on suspension -- will be eligible for reinstatement on October 28 ... following the team's matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.

While it's unclear exactly what led to the suspension of the 35-year-old future Hall of Famer, the punishment comes almost a year after authorities issued an arrest warrant for Miller for allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman -- later identified as his GF.

The woman eventually recanted her story, and the case was never pursued.

Miller always maintained his innocence, saying the allegations against him were "100% false" at a press conference in December 2023.

Of course, Von signed a six-year deal for $120 million with the team back in 2022, but it hasn't been smooth sailing for the former Super Bowl MVP.

In 2022, Miller's season was cut short due to a torn ACL and meniscus in his right knee. He returned in week 5 of the 2023 season but struggled to regain his Pro Bowl form.

While his role has been limited in 2024 ... he's played better. In four games, VM has racked up three sacks and four QB hits.

Now, Von will watch the next four games from home ... while his team, 3-1, prepares to take on the Houston Texans this Sunday.

CHIEFS QB MAHOMES WINS SUPER BOWL MVP

 Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes won his third Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award on Sunday after leading the Chiefs to a thrilling 25-22 overtime victory against the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas.

The three-time Super Bowl champion and two-time league MVP marched his team down the field in overtime, rushed to convert on fourth down and capped the comeback win with a three-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Mecole Hardman.

Mahomes was quick to credit his team mates for the triumph in Las Vegas.

"What we've come through, dealt with this year, the guys never faltered," he said.

"I just got to give God the glory man, he challenged us to make us better. I'm proud of my guys man, this is awesome, it's legendary.

The Chiefs have now won three Super Bowls in the last five seasons.

"It's the start of (a dynasty), we're not done. I know we're going to celebrate tonight but we got a young team, we going to keep this thing going."
