MILLIONAIRE football mogul Fawaz Al-Hasawi was stabbed when he confronted masked ­robbers in his home.

The former Nottingham Forest owner was injured as they tried to ransack his £10million house.

The Kuwaiti entrepreneur, 57, is thought to have been sleeping when thugs burst into his room, leaving him with stab wounds on his hand and neck injuries.

They fled and it is not clear if anything was taken in Mayfair, central London, earlier this month.

Images online show Mr Al-Hasawi in a bloodied hospital bed and with his hands bandaged.

His lawyers urged cops to give more details of the attack, claiming that other visitors from the Arabian Gulf “fear facing similar incidents”.

Al-Hasawi is a collector of watches, flashing them on social media.

The Met said the injuries were not life-threatening or life-changing and inquiries were continuing.

The businessman bought Forest from the estate of Nigel Doughty in 2012 and sold the Midlands club to Evangelos Marinakis in May 2017 after going through nine different managers in five years.

It comes just weeks after Manchester City star Ruben Dias and his girlfriend Maya Jama were left devastated after an “away day” gang ransacked their home.

Raiders are believed to have stolen more than £1million of designer watches, jewellery, handbags and clothes at their £4 million mansion in Cheshire.

Ruben and Maya had moved into the four-bedroom property before Christmas.

In December, The Sun revealed the shocking moment thieves fled Tottenham star Yves Bissouma’s mansion after stealing hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of designer gear.

The Premier League ace, 29, has since opened up on several “traumatic” raids on his home, which saw luxury watches, bags and jewellery nicked.

Bissouma, who earns £50,000-a-week at Spurs, has been targeted by thieves three times – losing £1million worth of precious items.

While the month before, Raheem Sterling confronted the masked burglar gang who broke into his home with a knife, it is understood.

The brave dad reportedly got hold of the weapon to protect his young family after the group of robbers smashed into his house.

Jadon Sancho's header midway through the first half in Istanbul earned Villa a sixth victory in seven European games, clinching a spot in the top eight and allowing Unai Emery's team to bypass the knockout phase play-offs.

Matty Cash struck the post in the second half and Villa held on as goalkeeper Marco Bizot produced a string of key saves with Fenerbahce pushing for an equaliser.

"I'm just happy to get my first goal for Aston Villa and to top it off with that, it's a win," Sancho, who joined on loan from Manchester United in September, told TNT Sports.

"Honestly, I know I can do a lot more. I'm very hard on myself in that aspect.

"It's nice to have a manager that backs you and obviously believes in you. Again, every opportunity I get I'm going to try and do 100% and hopefully I can deliver goals more."

Villa are second in the standings on 18 points and only trail Lyon on goal difference.

Lyon won 1-0 at Swiss side Young Boys with a goal from former Arsenal player Ainsley Maitland-Niles to ensure their spot in the last 16.

'Minute of madness' costs Forest

Forest face the prospect of going into the play-offs after a limp display in a 1-0 loss to Braga, who climbed up to fifth.

Morgan Gibbs-White had a penalty saved early in the second half and Braga went straight down the other end and scored as Forest captain Ryan Yates bundled into his own net.

Forest's struggles were compounded when Elliot Anderson was sent off for dissent in stoppage time.

"Very frustrating. One minute of madness. A game we never looked in trouble," Forest boss Sean Dyche told TNT Sports, with Braga not even managing a single shot on target.

"You might come away with a draw, but you shouldn't really lose that game.

"I don't think they hardly had a real chance, then we had a goalmouth scramble and even that can't go in."

Celtic had to settle for a point at Bologna and sit 24th in the 36-team table, occupying the final play-off berth. The Scottish champions host winless Utrecht in their final game next Thursday.

Martin O'Neill's side led through Reo Hatate's early strike in Italy, but the Japan international was sent off for a second booking on 34 minutes.

American defender Auston Trusty doubled Celtic's advantage before half-time, but Bologna fought their way back with goals from Thijs Dallings and Jonathan Rowe.

"We've given ourselves a chance - that's all, a chance - of qualifying. And from that viewpoint, I'm delighted," said O'Neill.

"My own view is that if we had stayed with 11 men, I think we would have won the game."

Rangers were eliminated despite their 1-0 victory over Ludogorets at Ibrox, where Mohamed Diomande grabbed the only goal.

Freiburg and Midtjylland are both on the cusp of a last-16 spot, with Roma well placed to join them after a 2-0 win over Stuttgart -- their fourth in a row in the Europa League.

ANGE POSTECOGLOU SACKED BY NOTTINGHAM FOREST 20 MINUTES AFTER CHELSEA DEFEAT

Nottingham Forest have sacked head coach Ange Postecoglou after eight winless games in charge. The Australian manager lasted just 39 days at the club. The decision comes following a 3-0 home defeat to Chelsea.

Nottingham Forest have sacked head coach Ange Postecoglou after he failed to win any of his eight games in charge of the club. The decision came just 20 minutes after Forest’s 3-0 home defeat to Chelsea on Saturday, October 18.

In an official statement, the club said: “Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that after a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect.”

Postecoglou fails to turn things around

Postecoglou was appointed as Forest’s coach on September 9 after the departure of Nuno Espirito Santo. However, his time at the club lasted only 39 days, during which Forest lost six matches and drew two.

The Australian coach faced criticism from fans after a string of poor performances, including a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United and a loss to Danish club FC Midtjylland, where supporters chanted “sacked in the morning.”

After the Chelsea defeat, Postecoglou left the ground immediately, skipping media duties. Within 20 minutes, the club confirmed his dismissal through a statement. The club is yet to announce who will replace Postecoglou.

It was Postecoglou's first job since being fired by Tottenham at the end of last season despite leading Spurs to the Europa League title to break their 17-year trophy drought.

Forest lost six and drew the other two of its eight games under Postecoglou. That included four losses from five in the league, scoring just one goal in the process, to leave Forest hovering just above the bottom three.

Nuno was fired despite leading Forest into Europe following a very public falling-out with owner Evangelos Marinakis, reportedly stemming from a breakdown in relations with the club’s recently hired global head of football, Edu Gaspar.

Postecoglou seemed an odd choice as the replacement, given his preferred style of play — on the front foot and attacking — differed to Nuno’s and the squad in place at the City Ground.

If the idea was for Postecoglou to bring a more expansive approach to Forest, it didn’t materialize. In five league games under the Australian, the team scored one goal.

There were loud jeers at the fulltime whistle at the Chelsea game.

There was no immediate word of a replacement but British media has already reported that Sean Dyche, the former Burnley and Everton manager, was in line to take over should Forest fire Postecoglou.

Dyche was sacked by Everton in January. He was a youth-team player at Forest before a career spent at lower-league clubs.

His direct and pragmatic playing style is more similar to Nuno’s than Postecoglou’s.

CHELSEA'S MARESCA BANNED FOR FOREST MATCH AFTER WILD CELEBRATION

London (AFP) – Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca was given a one-match touchline ban on Wednesday for dissent and over-celebrating a last-gasp goal in a 2-1 Premier League win over Liverpool on October 4.

The Italian will now be banned from the touchline for Chelsea's match away to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday.

He has also been fined £8,000 ($10,685) and the Football Association said Maresca openly admitted the misconduct charge.

He was given a yellow card for railing against a penalty decision and picked up a second one in the sixth minute of stoppage time for wildly celebrating Estevao Willian's angled winner during a desperate onslaught.

Chelsea had lost their previous two matches before tackling Liverpool at home, and the win lifted them to sixth place at that time as under-fire Maresca avoided a third successive league defeat.

Maresca is reported to have told the Italian media that running down the touchline and celebrating with the players had been "an instinctive reaction" and added that it had been worth it even if he got sent off.
