After being ill for several days, Roscoe Hamilton passed away on Monday. The animal, inseparable from his master, had become the paddock's mascot over the years.
Last Friday, in the guard of honor welcoming the return to Formula 1 de Romain Grosjean At Mugello, a man was missing. Lewis Hamilton was not present alongside Ferrari for a Pirelli test weekend and was therefore unable to pay tribute to his former rival, whom he spent ten years alongside on the track.
The Briton had stayed in England to care for his dog Roscoe, who had pneumonia and was in a coma after going into cardiac arrest. After four days of care, the English bulldog died this Sunday in the arms of his illustrious master.

“He never stopped fighting, until the very last moment. I feel so grateful and honored to have shared my life with such a beautiful soul, an angel and a true friend,” notably shared Lewis Hamilton. “Welcoming Roscoe into my life was the best decision I have ever made, and I will forever cherish the memories we have created together.”
“It’s one of the most painful experiences, and I feel a deep connection to anyone who has gone through the loss of a beloved pet. Even though it’s been so hard, having him by my side has been one of the most beautiful parts of life: to love so deeply and be loved in return.”
Roscoe had become one of the paddock's mascots over the years, often appearing alongside the champion. He also had another bulldog, named Coco, who passed away in 2020. The seven-time world champion received support from the paddock via several messages of comfort from current and former drivers.
