The Ugandan long distance runner also holds the 5,000m record that was set on the 14th of August 2020.
Chepgei broke Kenenisa Bekele's record set in 2005. Chepgei set a time of 26min 11sec.
Some critics are very jealous of this record as they attribute the win to Nike shoe spikes. The new Nike shoe spikes are called Nike ZoomX Dragonfly.
The Nike ZoomX Dragonfly spikes are fitted with a carbon plate and a special type of foam.
