MAX VERSTAPPEN FIRES BACK AT LANDO NORRIS AS MERCEDES DEMAND FIA INVESTIGATION

Formula One came back with a bang after a three-week absence at the United States Grand Prix, which brought plenty of action. However, it was another disappointing weekend for Mercedes and particularly Lewis Hamilton, who was nowhere near his brilliant best.

The 39-year-old was knocked out of qualifying at the first hurdle before crashing on the third lap of Sunday's race. It was certainly a weekend to forget for Hamilton, but it was one to remember for Charles Leclerc as he took the chequered flag in Austin.

Leclerc seized his opportunity to pass Lando Norris and Max Verstappen for the lead on the opening lap and did not look back. Verstappen managed to claim the final podium spot, while Norris ended up in fourth with a five-second time penalty for overtaking off the track.
